CIRCUIT HUAYHUASH TREK & PUMARINRI (5350M) & DIABLO MUDO (5225M) 21 DAYS
The circuit of the Cordillera Huayhuash, is one of trekking more beautiful of the world per its spectacular Lagoon and mountains, that over pass the 6000mt, during trekking we will have the opportunity to climbing to the mountain Diablo Mudo 5350n and Pumarinri 5350m
Day 01: Lima: Welcome at the Airport and Transfer to Hotel Lima
Day 02: Travel to Huaraz (3100m) by bus takes 8 hours. Hotel Huaraz
Day 03: Huaraz. Acclimatization day hikes Laguna Churup (4450mt)
By bus Pitec at 3,950m, and Hike Lake at 4,450m, and return to Huaraz.
Day 04: Huaraz / Transfer to Chiquian / Quero (3250mt) / Mahuay Camp (3784mt) Camp
Drive to the village of Quero and set up our first camp (3750m). To 4 hours drive.
Day 05: Mahuay / Trekking to Pariashpampa Camp (4500mt) Camp
After the breakfast in the morning we will start hiking aproximately 6 hours and camp in Pariashpampa at 4500m.
Day 06: Pariashpampa / Trekking Pasapashimin Pass (4974mt) / Matacancha Camp (4170mt) Camp
We leave Pariashpampa in the morning and continue our hike crossing the Pasapashimin Pass (4974mt). We set up camp at Matacancha. 6 hours walking
Day 07: Matacancha / Trekking Cacanan Pass (4700mt) / Laguna Mitucocha Camp (4250mt) Camp
Two options for the route, a gradual easy pass on the main trail or an off-trail adventure on steeper terrain with a beautiful lake and a high rocky pass.
Day 08: Laguna Mitucocha / Trekking Carhuac Pass (4650mt) / Laguna Carhuacocha Camp (4150mt) Camp
We cross the pass Paso de Carhuac (4650m) then descend to our camp at the big Carhuacocha Lake (4150m). From our camp we look directly up the lake to the peaks and ice fields of Siula and the two peaks of Yerupajá.
Day 09: Extra day in Laguna Carhuacocha Camp (4150mt) Camp
Rest Day at Carhuacocha Lake, take a half day hike around the lake, or visit Siula Lake. Catch trout for dinner.
Day 10: Laguna Carhuacocha / Trekking Carnisero Pass (4800m) / Huayhuash Camp (4750mt) Camp
Most people take the off trail route passing three differently colored lakes and winding below the peaks of Yurupaja and Siula.
Day 11: Huayhuash / Trekking Portachuelo Pass (4750mt) / Laguna Viconga Camp (4395mt) Camp
We descend past Viconga Lake, often the haunt of donkeys and time to relax in the natural hot springs at viconga.
Day 12: Laguna Viconga / Ascend to Pumarinri Summit (5350m) / Cuyoc Pass (5000m) / Yanapampa Camp (4450mt) Camp
You’ll hike over the highest pass in the Huayhuash circuit, reaching 5000 meters of altitude. A beautiful side trail is passable on foot while the donkeys follow a different trail and descent to quebrada Guanacpatay. And camp in Yanapampa to 4450m
Day 13: Yanapampa / Trekking San Antonio Pass (5050m) / Cutatambo Camp (4100mt) Camp
Challenging climb over Cerro San Antonio (5050mt) our highest pass. Breathtaking views to Siula Grande base camp and Siula glacier. Steep descend to camp at Cutatambo.
Day 14: Rest day at Cutatambo.
One of the more beautiful vistas of siula Grande (Joe Simpson – explorer) and visit the glacial lakes of Sarapocha and Santa Rosa
Day 15: Cutatambo / Trekking to Huatiac Camp (4253m) Camp
Today will be easy hiking through the valley downwards until reaching the village of Huayllap (3700m). We continue the trek climbing gradually up a narrow valley to reach the pastures of Huatiac (4253m). We will set up camp here for the night. Walking time is 4-5 hours.
Day 16: Huatiac / Trekking Tapush Pass (4750mt) / Gashgapampa Camp (4625mt) Camp
We leave Huatiac in the morning and continue our hike crossing the Tapush Pass (4800m). We set up camp at Gashgapampa (4400m) from where we will start early in the morning our climb to the mountain summit of Diablo Mudo (5350m). Walking time is 4-5 hours.
Day 17: Gashgapampa / Ascend to Diablo Mudo Summit (5225mt) / Laguna Jahuacocha Cmap (4150m) Camp
We will continue our trek and cross the Punta Yaucha (4850m) before descending to the spectacular Lake of Jahuacocha (4400m). This lake nestles between a great number of snow-capped mountains with cloud piercing peaks such as Jirishanca, El Toro (6100m), Yerupaja, Siula Grande, Rondoy (5885m) and Sarupo (6127m) and cascading glaciers. This is arguable the best campsite of the trek.Walking time 5-6 hours.
Day 18: An extra day at Laguna Jahuacocha.
Rest Day at Jahuacocha Lake, take a half day hike around the lake, or visit Lake Solterococha.
Day 19: Laguna Jahuacocha / Trekking Pampa llamac Pass (4300mt) / Descent to Llamac / Transfer to Huaraz Hotel Huaraz
In Llamac the bus will be waiting to take us back to Huaraz for hot showers.
Day 20: Lima: Trip to Lima and Arrive in the Afternoon and Transfer to hotel Lima
Day 21: Lima-Airport: Shopping, and in the Afternoon Transfer to Airport
