INTRODUCTION

The ausangate mountain trek, trekking in peru, is one of the beautiful hikes that Cusco has. The is in the Cordillera Vilcanota which is an impressive range of mountains including the massive Ausangate snow capped mountain (6,363m) and three others over 6000m, Containing spectacular mount scenery an of the highlands. Surprisingly, the Circuit has become a popular hike, one that is possible to complete in a week or as little time as 8 days.

ITINERARY

Day 01: Cusco / Transfer to Tinqui / Trekking to Upis Camp (4400m) Camp
The Ausangate Mountain trek / trekking in peru, starts with transfer from hotel to bus stop, and depart to Tinqui by bus and travel about six hours to reach the small Andean village of Tinqui. Driving through beautiful countryside, we pass several villages including Urcos, Ccatcca, and Ocongate finally we will arrive to Tinqui, and stop for lunch. After lunch we will trek crossing grassy meadows below the jagged stone flanks of Ausangate Mountain 6,350 m.a.s.l. the highest snow peak in Southern Peru

Day 02: Upis / Trekking Arapa pass (4850m) / Hatun pucacocha Camp (4440m) Camp
After early and nutritious breakfast, we continue with our ausangate trek - ausangate mountain circuit tour, this day the walk takes to the first pass called arapa (4750 masl). Beautiful landscape are seen along the way, further-on we climb a rock-strewn area, throughout all the passage we will see the majestic ausangate mountain. Finally we arrive to the pass; from where is possible to enjoy wonderful views, the trek continues gentle down and where some lakes are near our trail, multicolored lagoons,

Day 03: Hatun pucacocha / Trekking Palomani pass (5150m) / Huchuy finaya (4300m) Camp
This day the ausangate trek, seems to be more expectacular, in the morning a extended gentle ascent takes to the second pass named apacheta pass (4850 masl - 15, 908 ft), then a steep downhill leads to another lake called ausangate cocha. Lunch is at this site, opportunity so see lamas. After lunch an steep uphill wait to summit the ausangate trek highest point (palomani pass 5150 masl), a cool site providing impresive landscape, the vilcanota mountain ranch and the ausangate mountain are seen.

Day 04: Huchu finaya / Trekking Qampa pass (5050m) / Qomercocha Camp (4800m) Camp
Energetic breakfast is a best start of the day, so after breakfast once again the group continues hiking by a nice gentle flatland, area to see couple andean houses surrounded by lamas, alpacas an horses, a fter about 3 hours the group will reach the lunch spot at pampa cancha (4050msnm 13,285ft), a nice location showing up a large andean valley, opportunity to see viscachas "andean rotten), lamas and alpacas. After lunch an uphill waits to summit Qampa pass (5050 mt 16,564ft), second highest pass in the ausangate trek - ausangate mountain circuit.

Day 05: Qomer cocha / Trekking to Pacchanta Camp (4250m) Camp
We would say this section is the easiest ausangate trek day, the trails leads near colorful lakes, lamas fences and villagers are part of attraction along the way, the arrival to pacchanta is at about 2 in the afternoon, time for lunch and siesta.

Day 06: Pacchanta / Trekking to Arnacocha Camp
This is completely new part in the ausangate mountain circuit, a nice section that only few people had trekked, the trekking in peru of curse is more than just walking conventional trail, we trek by trail that other do not, we start with gradual uphill towards maranpaqui (small lama herders settlement), where is posible to observe kids running on their typical clothes, then we hike by a narrow valley up to the button of arnacocha where the group lunches and camp

Day 07: Arnaqocha / Trekking to Singrina cocha Camp
the morning wait with a hot cup of coffe, because there is cold camp site, the hike goes on gradual uphil to a large slope pass called arnaqocha pass (14,600 ft), then gradual down hill will lead to a nice turquoise color lake on where there is a possibility to see even vicuñas, lamas and alpacas.

Day 08: Singrina cocha / Trekking to Mallma / Transfer to Cusco
The last section of the ausangate mountain trek - trekking in peru, usual breakfast waits, and there is still a nice section walk through a settlement leading to the road wehre our tansport is waiting, lunch at the end of trek and after lunch there about 3 hours minivan drive to get cusco city.
